TUNIS – UNIVERSNEWS L’économie tunisienne perd chaque année 20 millions de dollars américains à cause des effets de la pollution plastique. C’est ce qui ressort d’un rapport publié par la Banque mondiale, relayé ce vendredi par la presse locale. Au moins 4,2 milliards de sacs à bretelles sont consommés annuellement en Tunisie.
« Les sacs à bretelle demeurent l’un des problèmes majeurs de la pollution par le plastique en Tunisie (…) Ces sacs se trouvent à la fin de leur cycle de consommation dans la nature, particulièrement et en majorité dans des zones côtières », selon le rapport.
Pour faire face à ce fléau, le gouvernement tunisien a déjà pris des mesures telles que l’interdiction des sacs en plastique à usage unique et ce, dans le cadre d’un accord avec les grandes surfaces et les pharmacies.
Par ailleurs, le décret gouvernemental du 16 janvier 2020 définit les types de sacs plastiques dont la production, l’importation, la distribution ainsi que la possession sont interdites sur le marché intérieur.
