TUNIS – UNIVERSNEWS Une application mobile appelée « Mabia-Mobile » a été développée par l’Institut National Agronomique de Tunisie (INAT) dans le cadre du projet « Innovation pour l’agriculture et l’agroalimentaire » (IAAA), en collaboration avec l’Agence de Promotion des Investissements Agricoles (APIA) et l’Agence allemande de coopération internationale (GIZ). Cette application vise à aider les agriculteurs en Tunisie à optimiser l’irrigation de leurs cultures et à économiser de l’eau.
Lors d’un atelier tenu récemment à la Cité de la Culture, le lancement officiel de cette solution digitale a été annoncé. L’application mobile « Mabia-Mobile » est disponible gratuitement sur le Playstore et permet aux agriculteurs de piloter l’irrigation de leurs cultures et de calculer en temps réel les besoins en eau d’irrigation.
Son objectif est d’assister les agriculteurs dans l’irrigation en se basant sur un modèle de bilan hydrique du sol dans la zone racinaire. Elle détermine si l’irrigation est nécessaire et calcule la quantité d’eau requise en prenant en compte différents facteurs tels que les espèces de cultures, le stade de croissance, les propriétés hydriques du sol, la pluviométrie et l’évapotranspiration.
« Mabia-Mobile » permet ainsi aux agriculteurs d’augmenter la productivité de l’eau et sa rentabilité, tout en contribuant à la préservation des ressources hydriques. Cette solution arrive à un moment critique pour la Tunisie, qui fait face à une sécheresse depuis quatre ans. Le taux de remplissage des barrages à l’échelle nationale était de 36,1% jusqu’au 12 juin dernier, et les réserves d’eau dans les barrages ont diminué de 27,65% par rapport à la moyenne des trois dernières années, atteignant 838,59 m3 contre 1.159,11 m3.
