TUNIS – UNIVERSNEWS Selon le rapport mensuel sur la Conjoncture énergétique pour le mois de mai 2023, publié par l’Observatoire national de l’Énergie et des Mines, le bilan énergétique montre une diminution de 8% du déficit en énergie primaire à fin mai 2023 par rapport à fin mai 2022, ce qui représente un déficit de 1,7 million de tonnes équivalent pétrole (Mtep).
Cette réduction du déficit est principalement due à une baisse de la demande d’énergie primaire, tandis que la production d’hydrocarbures a contribué à cette diminution de manière négative.
Le taux d’indépendance énergétique, qui représente la proportion des ressources d’énergie primaire par rapport à la consommation primaire, est passé de 52% à fin mai 2022 à 53% à fin mai 2023.
Cependant, si l’on exclut la redevance, le taux d’indépendance énergétique se maintiendrait à un niveau quasi stable de 41% à fin mai 2023 par rapport à fin mai 2022. Les ressources en énergie primaire ont enregistré une baisse de 7% à fin mai 2023 par rapport à la même période de l’année précédente, atteignant ainsi 1,9 Mtep. Cette diminution est principalement due à la baisse de la production nationale de pétrole brut et de gaz naturel.
Selon le rapport, la production nationale de pétrole et de gaz continue de dominer les ressources en énergie primaire, représentant conjointement 74% de l’ensemble des ressources.
La part de l’électricité renouvelable (production STEG uniquement) reste limitée, ne représentant que 1% des ressources primaires. Il est également important de noter que la redevance sur le transit du gaz algérien a connu une diminution de 2% à fin mai 2023 par rapport à la même période de l’année 2022. La demande en énergie primaire a diminué de 7% entre fin mai 2022 et fin mai 2023, principalement en raison d’une baisse de 10% de la demande de gaz naturel et d’une baisse de 5% de la demande de produits pétroliers.
Cette diminution de la demande de gaz naturel est attribuée à des restrictions dans l’achat de gaz algérien. Pour répondre à la demande nationale en électricité, la STEG s’est tournée vers les importations d’électricité.
