TUNIS – UNIVERSNEWS Moez-Alexandre Zouari, un entrepreneur français d’origine tunisienne, est sur le point de prendre les rênes de Casino, l’un des géants de la grande distribution en France et dans le monde.
Sa nomination en tant que futur PDG du groupe est en attente de la finalisation de l’offre de rachat qu’il a présentée avec ses partenaires Xavier Niel et Matthieu Pigasse.
Né le 6 février 1971 en France de parents tunisiens, Moez-Alexandre Zouari est issu d’une famille de commerçants spécialisés dans les biscuits et le sucre. Après avoir terminé ses études de commerce à l’Université Paris-Dauphine, il a épousé Soraya, une étudiante en médecine méthodique et discrète.
Le parcours de Moez-Alexandre Zouari et de Soraya est atypique. À partir de 1998, le couple a entrepris une quête audacieuse à travers Paris, cherchant des petites entreprises en difficulté à acquérir.
Après le succès de cette première entreprise, le groupe dirigé par Moez-Alexandre Zouari a continué à étendre son empreinte en acquérant d’autres établissements, notamment sous l’enseigne Franprix. Ils ont progressivement pris en charge la gestion de près de 500 magasins franchisés, incluant des enseignes telles que Franprix, Leader Price et Monop.
En juin 2023, Moez-Alexandre Zouari, en collaboration avec Xavier Niel et Matthieu Pigasse, a formulé une offre de rachat pour le groupe Casino, qui fait face à des difficultés financières. Leur offre concurrente, d’une valeur d’un milliard d’euros, représente une alternative à celle de l’homme d’affaires Daniel Kretinsky, évaluée à 750 millions d’euros.
Outre son intérêt pour Casino, Moez-Alexandre Zouari détient également une participation de 49 % dans la société Picard Surgelés, en collaboration avec son épouse Soraya. De plus, ils possèdent plusieurs centaines de magasins franchisés appartenant au groupe Casino.
Selon le magazine Challenges, la fortune de Moez-Alexandre Zouari et de Soraya est estimée à 800 millions d’euros en 2021, ce qui les classe parmi les grandes fortunes françaises, à la 128e place.
