Neuf postes frontaliers ont été ouverts à la frontière avec la Tunisie, pour recevoir nos hôtes algériens à savoir Oum Teboul et Laayoun au niveau de la wilaya d’El Tarf, Ouled Moumène et Lahdada dans la wilaya de Souk Ahras, Lamridj, Ras El Aâyoun, Bouchebka et Tbiba, au niveau de la wilaya de Tébessa, et Tayeb El Arbi au niveau d’El Oued, plus au sud.
L’Algérie est le premier marché émetteur de touristes vers la Tunisie, en nombre d’arrivées. Si l’année dernière 2022, leur nombre était de 1 238 620 entrées, cette année 2023, le tourisme tunisien peut tabler sur le double du chiffre de l’année précédente, soit 2 500 000 touristes algériens. Si les conditions sont très favorables, il est permis d’espérer de se rapprocher de la performance record de 2019 qui était de 2 934 975.
Il est vrai que la demande touristique algérienne reste marquée par la prédominance du tourisme familial, de santé et de shopping, le caractère tardif des réservations et la recherche du facteur qualité/prix. 88% des Algériens viennent en Tunisie par la route et 12% par avion.
Mohamed Amine Berredjem, président de l’Association algérienne des agences de voyage, a indiqué qu’«Le parc hôtelier en Algérie dispose de moins de 50.000 lits dans les zones balnéaires et nous avons une population de plus de 40 millions de personnes. Si 10% seulement de la population veulent trouver une place dans les hôtels, il est clair qu’ils n’en trouveront pas. Cela traduit que nous avons donc un grand déficit dans notre parc hôtelier. Ainsi, la cherté des hôtels est liée à la loi de l’offre et de la demande, et chez nous, la demande est bien plus élevée que l’offre. C’est ce qui explique que beaucoup d’Algériens choisissent la destination Tunisie ».
